About Me

My photo
Hi, I'm Natasha. Having just finished a BA HONS degree in Textiles Design (specialising in surface design) I created a blog to share with you some of my work I did throughout my degree, also keeping you updated with how I'm keeping myself busy and creative after graduating. I will share my thoughts, inspirations and love for anything creative. In turn I hope they will interest others.

New Designers 2011

Broken Memories at New Designers

New Designers was a wonderful opportunity and very memorable experience.
Here are a few photos I took of my work on the BIAD stand and a short statement explaining my concept.

‘Experiences through life define us as a person,
Memories shared bond people together,
When all we know and who we know crumbles away, what are we left with?’
The collection is a documentation of a personal reaction to a family member’s diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease, portraying the continual loss of data, personality changes, memory loss, aggression and confusion.
It is a recording of the continual and incremental deterioration; a series of work aiming to capture the passing of time, change, growth and decay.

This work also explores the idea of preserving and displaying a memory forever. Using a diverse use of materials and processes, that thoughtfully communicate the concept of Broken Memories.
